Hails & Farewells: Leadership Changes at the Exchange

For the past three years, it’s been my honor to serve you and your families as the Commander of the Army & Air Force Exchange Service’s Pacific Region. The job of serving you, the greatest customers in the world and working to improve your Exchange benefit has been one of the most meaningful assignments of my career.  Unfortunately, there comes a time to pack up and move to your next destination. As for me, this means retiring after twenty-eight years in the Air Force and moving on to a new career.  As I go, I wanted to say thank you for the sacrifices you make for our country and for letting me serve you in the Pacific.

After my departure I ask you to welcome Air Force Lt Col Kristin H. McCoy (Kris) as the new commander for the Exchange’s Pacific Region.  Lt Col McCoy currently serves as the Deputy Executive Officer to the Deputy Commander of the United States European Command and will be coming to the Exchange with more than 20 years of military experience in Air Force personnel and support operations.

Having served both in deployed combat environments and base-level commands in overseas and CONUS locations,  Lt Col McCoy understands what our current warfighters are going through every day and the importance of Exchange operations to service members overseas and their families.  I’m proud to know that I will be handing command over to someone who is more than capable of taking care of our warfighters and their families, preserving their Exchange benefit.

Our Exchange headquarters in Dallas will also be experiencing leadership changes when Air Force Brig Gen Casey D. Blake arrives in July as our new Deputy Commanding General.  Brig Gen Blake is currently serving as Deputy Commander, Joint Theater Support Contracting Command, U.S. Central Command, Kabul Afghanistan.

Bringing more than 28 years of military experience to the table, Brig. Gen. Blake has held numerous Air Force and joint assignments to include some recent positions as commander of the Defense Contract Management’s Lockheed Martin, Marietta, Ga. office and positions with the office of Defense, Procurement and Acquisition Policy, Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics. We know that he will continue Brig Gen Fran Hendrick’s work of making the Exchange successful by building on best practices to support our military community and ensuring military service members and their families get the most out of their Exchange benefit.
