Exchange Named to U.S. Veterans Magazine’s Best of the Best 2019 List

The Army & Air Force Exchange Service has been named to U.S. Veterans Magazine’s 2019 Best of the Best list of Top Government and Law Enforcement Agencies for the sixth straight year. DALLAS – The Army & Air Force Exchange Service has made U.S. Veterans Magazine’s 2019 Best of the Best list of Top Government and Law Enforcement Agencies for the sixth straight year.

The distinction recognizes the Department of Defense’s largest retailer for its efforts to recruit and support Veteran associates and comes just two weeks after the Exchange was named a Best for Vets: Employer by Military Times.

“Veterans have always been a crucial component of the Exchange’s success,” said Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Luis Reyes, Exchange senior enlisted advisor. “The Exchange is honored to be recognized with back-to-back distinctions for recruitment and support of our Nation’s heroes.”

U.S. Veterans Magazine publishes annual Best of the Best lists for Veteran-friendly companies, supplier diversity programs, schools and government and law enforcement agencies. The lists are compiled from independent and market research, diversity conference participation and survey responses. The 2019 lists will be published in the fall issue of U.S Veterans Magazine and available on newsstands mid-August.

Veterans comprise 11.8% of the Exchange’s workforce. Since 2013, the Exchange has hired more than 39,000 Veterans and military spouses. Last year, the Exchange reaffirmed its dedication to hiring 50,000 Veterans and military spouses by 2020, hiring nearly 7,000 Veterans and military spouses worldwide in 2018. The Exchange recruits Veterans through its Veterans Retail Management Training program, job fairs, truck shows and other outreach events.

The Exchange’s commitment to Veterans includes Veteran shoppers—in 2017, the Department of Defense concurred with extending a lifelong online military Exchange shopping benefit to all honorably discharged Veterans. Veterans can visit ShopMyExchange.com/vets to learn more.
