DALLAS \u2013 <\/strong>The Army & Air Force Exchange Service extended a new, lifelong exchange online shopping benefit to all honorably discharged Veterans on Nov. 11, a milestone accompanied by a 120 percent surge in online sales.<\/p>\n

This benefit extended the Exchange\u2019s online customer universe to roughly 30 million patrons, compared to 11 million before the launch.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis Veterans Day, the Exchange had the privilege of saying \u2018welcome home\u2019 to those who raised their right hand, took an oath and served our Nation,\u201d said Exchange Director\/CEO Tom Shull. \u201cWe are humbled by the response to the launch of this benefit and look forward to continue serving our Nation\u2019s Veterans with military-exclusive pricing and service.\u201d<\/p>\n

Over Veterans Day weekend, the number of orders placed at ShopMyExchange.com<\/a> nearly tripled that of the prior year. On Nov. 11, online sales increased three-fold compared to the same day last year. Nov. 12 saw a doubling of the prior year\u2019s online sales.<\/p>\n

Veterans began verifying their eligibility for the new benefit in April. In the months leading to the launch, verified Veterans were selected for early access to ShopMyExchange.com<\/a> as beta shoppers. More than 24,000 Veterans generated $5.6 million in sales during this period.<\/p>\n

Sales from this benefit will help improve the quality of life of existing service members and their families as Exchange earnings support critical military Quality-of-Life programs, including combat uniforms below cost, school lunches for Warfighters\u2019 children overseas, child development centers, fitness centers, youth programs on Army garrisons, Air Force Outdoor Recreation programs, and more.<\/p>\n
