{"id":12325,"date":"2026-04-16T11:03:33","date_gmt":"2026-04-16T16:03:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/publicaffairs-sme.com\/ExchangePost\/?p=12325"},"modified":"2026-04-16T11:04:04","modified_gmt":"2026-04-16T16:04:04","slug":"military-star-stands-with-service-members-when-deployment-orders-arrive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/publicaffairs-sme.com\/ExchangePost\/2026\/04\/16\/military-star-stands-with-service-members-when-deployment-orders-arrive\/","title":{"rendered":"MILITARY STAR Stands With Service Members When Deployment Orders Arrive"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>DALLAS \u2013<\/strong> Deployment orders come with a <a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2s7SAFW\">built-in financial help for MILITARY STAR\u00ae cardmembers<\/a>, who can lock in exclusive protections before deploying.<\/p>\n<p>Cardmembers, including activated mobilized or activated Reservists and National Guard members, deploying to qualifying locations are eligible for temporary for a temporarily reduced 6% interest rate with deferred monthly payments during their deployments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cService members carry enough on deployment, but the MILITARY STAR card is designed to remove some of that financial weight,\u201d said Exchange Credit Program Senior Vice President Joseph Todd. \u201cThese protections exist because the military community deserves a card built with their livelihoods in mind.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To be eligible for deployment benefits, the MILITARY STAR account must be in good standing (no more than one payment past due), and the cardmember must provide a copy of deployment orders or a letter from the unit commander.<\/p>\n<p>The deployment orders or letter must contain:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Full name<\/li>\n<li>Social Security number<\/li>\n<li>Length of deployment or dates of deployment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Cardmembers can submit their orders to the Exchange Credit Program at <a href=\"mailto:Deployment@aafes.com\">Deployment@aafes.com<\/a>. Cardmembers must include an image of the orders or letter.<\/p>\n<p>Cardmembers can also mail their deployment orders or letters to:<\/p>\n<p>Exchange Credit Program<\/p>\n<p>ATTN: Deployments<\/p>\n<p>P.O. In 2025, qualifying cardmembers saved $1 million from the reduced-interest, no-payment deployment policy.<\/p>\n<p>The MILITARY STAR card, an exclusive line of credit for active-duty service members, their families, Veterans, retirees and Department of War and Coast Guard civilians, is accepted all exchanges, commissaries and more on installations.
