DALLAS \u2013<\/strong> With military spouse unemployment far outpacing the national average, the Army & Air Force Exchange Service is reinforcing its commitment to hiring Veterans and military spouses during National Military Appreciation Month<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As the Department of War\u2019s largest retailer, the Exchange is where heroes work, delivering careers that enhance financial stability for military families while supporting Warfighters worldwide.<\/p>\n

Since 2013, the Exchange has hired nearly 68,000 Veterans and military spouses. Today, Veterans, military spouses and family members represent 45% of the Exchange\u2019s U.S. workforce, with more than 80% of associates sharing a connection to the military community.<\/p>\n

The unemployment rate for military spouses is at 22%\u2014about five times the national average.<\/a> Employing spouses remains critical, as many military families rely on dual incomes.
