\"\"WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE \u2013 <\/strong>The Army & Air Force Exchange Service now offers diesel fuel to Airmen and their families at Whiteman Air Force Base.<\/p>\n

Diesel service began<\/a> Jan. 19 at the Whiteman AFB Express. The 509th Civil Engineer Squadron\u2019s liquid fuel team converted an existing 10,000-gallon gasoline tank to diesel, saving the Exchange more than 50 percent compared to labor estimates from commercial technicians.<\/p>\n

The squadron regularly provides affordable maintenance and mechanical assistance on Express fuel equipment, said Exchange General Manager Mary Omler.<\/p>\n

\u201cHaving diesel available makes fueling up at the Express even more convenient for Airmen and military families at Whiteman,\u201d Omler said. \u201cThe Exchange appreciates the support of the 509th in helping us bring diesel to the Whiteman Express.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Whiteman AFB Express, 410 Third St., Building 3032, also offers regular, mid-grade and premium unleaded gasoline at all pumps. The Express is open from 5:30 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday, 5:30 to midnight on Friday, and 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.<\/p>\n
