DALLAS \u2013 <\/strong>Fitness and nutrition go hand-in-hand in achieving the BE FIT lifestyle<\/a>, just like Sgt. Maj. Edward Bell and his wife, Lisa<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Bells, who have been married nearly 30 years, have always been committed to a healthy lifestyle. Now, they are sharing their wisdom with the military community.<\/p>\n

The Bells are serving as the first spokescouple for the Army & Air Force Exchange Service\u2019s BE FIT program, which encourages Soldiers, Airmen and their families to make healthier choices to remain ready and resilient. They are a real-life example of healthy living for military families.<\/p>\n

\"\"The couple, who have four grown sons, knows a thing or two about living BE FIT. Bell has served in the Army for 31 years, deploying seven times, and is assigned to the Pentagon. Lisa Bell works as an instructor at the Fort McNair fitness center.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have to always be ready, physically fit, mentally focused and be a part of the team,\u201d Bell said. \u201cThat\u2019s why health, wellness and being resilient are so important today as military members.\u201d<\/p>\n

As the Exchange\u2019s BE FIT spokescouple, the Bells share tips on nutrition, grocery shopping at the commissary and exercise via videos for Exchange social media, TVs in the BE FIT section at Exchange stores and ShopMyExchange.com\/be-fit<\/a>. Their tips for healthier living can be found in the Department of Defense retailer\u2019s weekly sales flyers as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s all about taking care of people and empowering people to be healthy,\u201d Bell said.<\/p>\n

The Exchange makes providing resources for a healthy lifestyle a priority, including carrying name-brand exercise equipment and workout gear at its main stores and offering better-for-you choices at its Express stores and restaurants.<\/p>\n
