\"ExchangeWESTOVER AIR RESERVE BASE \u2013 <\/strong>To better meet the needs of the Air Force community, the Army & Air Force Exchange Service is shifting resources at Westover ARB.<\/p>\n

\u201cSales at the Westover ARB Exchange main store are down 45 percent year to date,\u201d said Exchange General Manager Phil Capshaw. \u201cThe Exchange\u2019s dual mission to support the communities we are honored to serve while generating needed financial support for critical Air Force Quality-of-Life programs required a reevaluation of operations to ensure we have the right offerings at Westover to fully support the broader Air Force mission. As part of that review, a determination was made that closure of the main store was necessary.\u201d<\/p>\n

Effective Sept. 22, the Westover ARB Exchange will refocus its merchandising efforts from the main store to other Exchange activities at Westover ARB. The Westover ARB Exchange at 291 Hercules Road will continue to house Military Clothing, alterations, a barber shop and dry cleaners. Service members can also find tax-free shopping and military-exclusive pricing at the Westover ARB Express, 451 Airlift Road. The Express\u2019 Healthier Choices BE FIT assortment offers a variety of meals and snacks that support troop readiness, including fresh fruit, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs and more. Those looking for better-for-you meal options can dine at Subway, located inside the Express.<\/p>\n

In addition to on-installation offerings, military shoppers can find more than 2 million items at ShopMyExchange.com<\/a>, which offers free shipping on any order placed using a MILITARY STAR card or totaling $49 or more. Shoppers can also have any item at the Hanscom AFB Exchange transported to the Westover ARB Express at no charge. For more information, shoppers should ask an Express manager about the Exchange shuttle program.<\/p>\n

One hundred percent of Army & Air Force Exchange Service earnings support the military community. Over the past 10 years, the Department of Defense retailer has generated $2.4 billion for military Quality-of-Life programs, including Child Development Centers, Youth Services programs, fitness centers, and other programs that make life better for service members and their families on installations.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe sustained loss of sales at the main store made changes to the delivery of Exchange support at Westover ARB unavoidable,\u201d Capshaw said. \u201cOur team is fully focused on minimizing disruptions in service while providing outstanding service and support. We thank our customers for their patience, understanding and input as we modify offerings in the coming months. \u201d<\/p>\n
