\"\"SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE \u2013<\/strong> The Army & Air Force Exchange Service celebrated the completion of a $4.3 million upgrade to the Scott Air Force Base Exchange shopping center on June 29.<\/p>\n

Col. Leslie A. Maher, 375th Air Mobility Wing commander, helped Exchange leaders cut the ribbon at the renovated store<\/a>, which brings a modern look and feel to the 124,000-square-foot shopping center.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are honored to provide Airmen and families at Scott Air Force Base with the latest in Exchange comfort, convenience and care,\u201d said Exchange General Manager Rita Sheridan. \u201cWe hope the Scott community finds their new Exchange to be an even better place to come together for food, fashion and more.\u201d<\/p>\n

The update includes a new main store department layout; fresh paint, flooring, graphics and fixtures on the main sales floor; renovated barber shop, salon and dry cleaners in the mall; new flooring and expanded seating in the food court; a newly enclosed outdoor living department; and upgraded restrooms with new floor and wall tiles, paint and fixtures.<\/p>\n

While the project was largely paid for by Exchange earnings, the installation contributed $48,000 for military clothing store improvements, including new fixtures, flooring and paint. The renovation is the shopping center\u2019s first since it opened in 2003.<\/p>\n

Shopping and dining at the Exchange benefits Airmen and military families as 100 percent of Exchange earnings support the Scott AFB community. In 2017, the Exchange contributed $513,794 to Quality-of-Life programs at the installation.<\/p>\n

The Scott AFB Exchange is at 207 West Winters St., Building 1981. The main store is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Sundays.<\/p>\n
