\"\"U.S. SOUTHERN COMMAND \u2013 <\/strong>The Army & Air Force Exchange Service\u2019s senior enlisted advisor is making it his mission to ensure service members at U.S Southern Command have the products they need, whether shopping in-store or online.<\/p>\n

During his Aug. 1 visit to SOUTHCOM, Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Luis Reyes toured the Express<\/a> for a firsthand look at BE FIT options, dedicated to military readiness. The 123-year-old Department of Defense retailer\u2019s healthy initiatives help service members stay mission-ready.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Exchange is committed to support the readiness and resiliency of troops assigned to SOUTHCOM,\u201d said Reyes, one of about 30 active-duty service members assigned to the Exchange. \u201cWe are leaning forward to provide better-for-you options at Exchange stores.\u201d<\/p>\n

The SOUTHCOM Express BE FIT assortment includes grab-and-go snacks such as fresh fruit, salads and hard-boiled eggs.<\/p>\n

Every time service members fuel up or grab a snack at the Express, they make life better for those who wear the uniform and their families. 100 percent of Exchange earnings support Quality-of-Life programs including military uniforms; school lunches for Warfighters\u2019 children overseas; fitness centers; and career opportunities for spouses, Veterans and Wounded Warriors (the Exchange has hired more than 1,200 Wounded Warriors since 2010).<\/p>\n

Reyes highlighted the convenience of the Exchange\u2019s revamped online shopping site, which features 2 million items tax-free and with military-exclusive pricing. The site focuses on name brands such as Apple, Under Armour, bareMinerals and more\u2014everything from clothing to fitness trackers to big-screen TVs. The Exchange was recently named electronics retailer of the year by New Age Electronics, and ShopMyExchange.com was ranked No. 2 for electronics by Consumer Reports\u2014ahead of Best Buy, Walmart and Target.<\/p>\n
