\"\"HOMESTEAD AIR RESERVE BASE \u2013 <\/strong>The Army & Air Force Exchange Service\u2019s senior enlisted advisor is making it his mission to ensure Airmen and families at Homestead ARB have the products they need, whether shopping in-store or online.<\/p>\n

During his Aug. 1 visit to Homestead, Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Luis Reyes toured the Exchange mini mall for a firsthand look<\/a> at BE FIT options, dedicated to military readiness. The 123-year-old Department of Defense retailer\u2019s healthy initiatives help Airmen stay mission-ready.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Exchange is committed to support the readiness and resiliency of Homestead Airmen,\u201d said Reyes, one of about 30 active-duty service members assigned to the Exchange. \u201cAs a partner in the Air Force Smarter Fueling initiative, we are leaning forward to provide better-for-you options at Exchange stores.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Homestead mini mall is stocked with grab-and-go snacks such as fresh fruit, salads and hard-boiled eggs.<\/p>\n

Every time Airmen fuel up or grab a snack at the Exchange, they make life better at Homestead ARB. 100 percent of Exchange earnings support Quality-of-Life programs including military uniforms at cost; school lunches below cost for Warfighters\u2019 children overseas; fitness centers; and career opportunities for spouses, Veterans and Wounded Warriors (the Exchange has hired more than 1,200 Wounded Warriors since 2010). Last year, the Exchange shoppers generated more than $160,000 for Quality-of-Life programs at Homestead.<\/p>\n

Service members can find BE FIT apparel, shoes and more online at ShopMyExchange.com. Reyes highlighted the convenience of the Exchange\u2019s revamped online shopping site, which features 2 million items tax-free and with military-exclusive pricing. The site focuses on name brands such as Apple, Under Armour, bareMinerals and more\u2014everything from clothing to fitness trackers to big-screen TVs. The Exchange was recently named electronics retailer of the year by New Age Electronics, and ShopMyExchange.com was ranked No. 2 for electronics by Consumer Reports\u2014ahead of Best Buy, Walmart and Target.<\/p>\n

\u201cCompetitive pricing and tax-free shopping make the Exchange a tremendous value for those who have earned the right to shop their Exchange,\u201d Reyes said. \u201cIf shoppers can\u2019t find what they need in-store, ShopMyExchange.com puts an expanded product assortment at their fingertips.\u201d<\/p>\n

In November, all honorably discharged Veterans were welcomed home to their military family with a lifelong online military exchange shopping benefit. All who served honorably can now shop online, tax-free, for life. Allowing honorably discharged Veterans to shop online strengthens the online experience to better serve the entire military community<\/p>\n
