\"ThreeORLANDO, Fla. \u2013 <\/strong>For retired Staff Sgt. Cheryl Davis, first time was the charm.<\/p>\n

The Army Veteran entered her first Army & Air Force Exchange Service contest earlier this year. Now, she is ready to head off into the sunset on her new motorcycle\u2014she just needs to learn to ride it first.<\/p>\n

\u201cI couldn\u2019t believe it was true,\u201d said Davis, winner of the Exchange\u2019s Jack Daniels Indian Motorcycle sweepstakes<\/a>. \u201cI still don\u2019t know if it\u2019s real yet.\u201d<\/p>\n

Davis, who entered to win on ShopMyExchange.com<\/a>, got her first look at the prize, valued at $19,000, during the Exchange\u2019s annual Express Seminar in Orlando on June 26. She received the motorcycle one day before her 50th<\/sup> birthday.<\/p>\n

Chief Master Sgt. Luis Reyes, Exchange senior enlisted advisor, handed the retired Soldier the keys to her new ride and helped her celebrate.<\/p>\n

\u201cReal heroes shop with the Exchange, and real heroes win our sweepstakes,\u201d Reyes said. \u201cIt is such a privilege to present this motorcycle to retired Staff Sgt. Davis, who spent 21 \u00bd years serving her county. She deserves this.\u201d<\/p>\n

Davis, who lives in Champions Gate, Fla., retired from the Army in 2014. She deployed to Iraq shortly after 9\/11 and says she was grateful to the Exchange for providing comfort and a taste of home.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Exchange was there for me, especially right after 9\/11 in Iraq,\u201d Davis said. \u201cWe had nothing. Then, the Exchange got there and started putting up tents\u2014I was so happy to see them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nearly 11,000 Exchange shoppers\u2014Soldiers, Airmen, retirees, family members and honorably discharged Veterans\u2014entered the Jack Daniels Indian Motorcycle Sweepstakes. Davis says she doesn\u2019t know how to ride, but she\u2019s ready to learn.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m so excited,\u201d Davis said. \u201cGod blessed me with a beautiful gift for my birthday.\u201d<\/p>\n
