DALLAS \u2013<\/strong> From military exercises to communities struck by natural disasters, the Army & Air Force Exchange Service goes where troops go to provide quality, tax-free merchandise and goods and services\u2014regardless of location, risk or challenge.<\/p>\n

Now, the Department of Defense\u2019s largest retailer is offering military units, including Reserve and federally mobilized National Guard units, an online resource<\/a> offering Exchange retail planning information at https:\/\/www.aafes.com\/about-exchange\/military-exercises-contingencies\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Exchange has years of experience supporting our Nation\u2019s heroes in all kinds of conditions and locations across the globe,\u201d said Army Col. Brian Memoli, the Exchange\u2019s deputy director of Logistics. \u201cIt\u2019s now easier than ever for units to see what kinds of support the Exchange can offer, interface with our Contingency Operations team and request rapid support in the field.\u201d<\/p>\n

The online guide has everything units need to request Exchange support in contingency locations. The resource features regulatory guidance, training products, request forms, contact information and details on the Exchange\u2019s mobile stores, including stores on wheels stocked with snacks, beverages and hygiene products known as mobile field Exchanges (MFEs).<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Exchange is on call 24\/7 to provide rapid Quality-of-Life support and a taste of home to deployed troops,\u201d said Chief Master Sgt. Kevin Osby, Exchange senior enlisted advisor. \u201cThis new online resource makes it easy for units to learn more about the Exchange\u2019s capabilities and work with our experienced Contingency Operations team to provide troops with the products and services that support their readiness, resiliency and morale.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2020, the Exchange deployed four MFEs to assist troops during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic<\/a>.\u00a0 In 2017, MFEs deployed to serve federally mobilized Texas National Guard troops assisting with relief efforts at Camp Swift and Camp Christi after Hurricane Harvey. The Exchange also deployed MFEs to Fort Dix, Floyd Bennet Field and Camp Smith in 2012 to support National Guard and FEMA personnel during rescue efforts after Superstorm Sandy.<\/p>\n
