\"\"DALLAS \u2013<\/strong> In a special on-field presentation, the Army & Air Force Exchange Service presented Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force JoAnne S. Bass with its inaugural Warfighter Quality of Life Champion Award at the Commanders\u2019 Classic on Nov. 5.<\/p>\n

The Exchange\u2019s Warfighter Quality of Life Champion Award honors those who have made significant contributions to Warfighters and their families.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis award is for all service members across our Department of Defense who work tirelessly to improve the lives of their fellow service members, families, and our Nation,\u201d Bass said. \u201cThey are the ones taking care of the mission, securing our way of life every day, 24\/7, and I am honored to serve alongside them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bass enlisted in the Air Force in 1993. She is the first woman to serve as the highest-ranking noncommissioned officer in any of the military services. In her current role, she focuses on building the Total Force with a focus on people, readiness and culture. She also serves on the Exchange\u2019s Board of Directors.<\/p>\n

Exchange Director\/CEO Tom Shull and senior enlisted advisor Chief Master Sgt. Kevin Osby presented the award to Bass at the Army-Air Force football game at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.<\/p>\n

\u201cCMSAF Bass is an Airman\u2019s Airman,\u201d said Exchange Director\/CEO Tom Shull, USMA Class of 1973. \u201cFor nearly 30 years, she has been steadfast in strengthening critical Quality-of-Life support for Airmen and their families. The Exchange is truly honored to recognize CMSAF Bass with this award.\u201d<\/p>\n
