Similar comment are previous one–why the change?Hard to teach an old dog new tricks!
Thank you for writing. We changed to an all-digital Exchange Post about 2 years ago in keeping with industry trends for corporate communications and publications like employee magazines.
We found that our readers were yearning for their news in real time–and we couldn’t give them that in a magazine. For instance, when the hurricane decimated Tyndall AFB, Fla., our readers found out about it THAT DAY, rather than having to wait a month for the magazine to come.
We realize that some readers prefer a magazine to hold in their hands. After all, the Exchange Post magazine had been around since 1956. But times, they are a-changing–and so is corporate communications. More and more readers across all age demographics want their news NOW, on their home computers, smartphones, tablets and all their other devices.
The obits actually are easy to find. Actually, after your first email and the 2nd email from another reader, we changed the way you get to the obits and cut the number of clicks.
1. Go to the home page, http://www.theexchangepost.com.
2. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page.
3. Click on the Obits, Transfers and Retirement link right in the middle under News by Category.
4. Click on the page that pops up the month you want to view. For instance, follow these directions and you can find and then view January’s obits without as many clicks as before.
I suggest bookmarking http://www.theexchangepost.com page and then the obit page. Then, you can go to your bookmarks and call up the obit page much quicker than having to go through all the steps.
Again, thanks for writing! We appreciate your input. Really, we do!
Steve, appreciate your help- all well and I am up to date on process-thanks, Stew
You’re welcome! Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Keep up your GREAT WORK!
I notice in the retirement section that I am listed with only 13 years of Exchange employment, I started with the exchange in 1981 and retired May 31 2019 with a total of 38 employment with the exchange.
Thank you for writing to your Exchange Post. I will make the correction now.
