August’s Customer Shoutouts: These Associates Rock!

I am in the process of moving and downsizing and have been going to the Hohenfels PXtra to find the containers and totes that I need to pack my goods. It’s been pretty stressful given the rush I’m in and the times we are living in right now. Special thanks go out to Luz: She’s always there when I go shopping and listens when I start complaining about whatever’s happening lately in my life. She has never acted as if she wasn’t concerned. Even when they were out of stock of the plastic totes I needed, she remained professional: Not only did she suggest that I put in a purchase order, but I guess she could tell from my face that I didn’t want to do the paperwork, because she decided to write it up for me and assured me that it wasn’t going to take long and would be painless. She was right. That was really cool on her part, and somehow helped me calm down in a stressful moment. I received a call that same day to tell me that my order was processed and that I would get notified as soon as it arrived. That was awesome—I didn’t expect to kind of speedy service at all.

Over the last few weeks, whenever I’ve seen Luz working, she has spoken to me, remembered me and made me laugh while still remaining professional. I applaud her for being able to deal with crazy customers like myself. I know this is just my first comment, but it should have been my third or fourth as I have been back and forth to the store several times in the last few weeks and she’s always there to assist me. One time, I went to the regular PX looking for the same plastic cases. Luz saw me, came over and not only helped me find them but went as far as to help me take them to the cashier since I ran out of extra hands. I don’t even think she was working over there that day but took the time to help me anyways. I appreciate all her help!

I went to the Arby’s on base on March 14 and ordered 20 gyros. I preordered them to expedite the pickup process and Amanda was very helpful and professional and a pleasure to do business with. You have the right person in the right position. When I went to pick my order up the next day, the gentlemen (whose name I didn’t get) offered to carry them to the car for me. I just wanted to take a minute and thank these people for actually caring about what they do, because it makes a huge difference.

This compliment is for Mandy for her happy, kind and professional service. Mandy is the kind of BX employee that wears her smile well when providing exceptional customer service upon checkout. I asked her what makes her such a consistently happy person and she kindly replied that it was her ability to remain calm under pressure. Mandy certainly is poised, and her service is noticed and appreciated! Thank you.

Tonya Yancey

A shoutout to Tonya and her staff for assisting my brother, James Starnes. Tonya went above and beyond to complete my father’s burial uniform. He was retired and moved several times, so his medals were misplaced. They granted my brother access to the base and completely took over this process. This team needs to be recognized. This was beyond customer service—it was an acknowledgment of my father’s 20-plus years of dedicated service to the U.S. Army. Thank you Tonya and your team! You made my brother’s day!

I want to commend Gina, Mercedes, Amber and all of the employees at the shopette for their tremendous professionalism, customer service and overall great personal skills provided every day. I have been working out here since 2010, and since Gina has taken over as the manager, personal skills for the workers has been outstanding, customer service has been tremendous and they even order stuff so we can buy it here instead of somewhere else. I love going there because of the way it is run and their overall professional service and courtesy toward the customer every single day. Great job Gina and staff!
