Pacific Region associates and managers continue to go above and beyond every day. We have so many associates doing so many amazing things in addition to providing selfless and dedicated service to the Pacific Region customers. It is evident they love what they do. This month, Porping Yang; Yi, Chae-min; and Kim, Nam-yim represent Pacific Region’s Best of the Best… Leaders of the PAC with Pacific Pride!
Kadena Military Store – Powerzone
Porping Yang is an outstanding contribution to the operational effectiveness of the Kadena MS Powerzone Department. His hard work, dedication and computer skills have saved the facility about $6,000 in expenses while maximizing sales. He found laptops that had been written off due to system errors prior to inventory and decided to attempt to fix them. Using his extensive computer expertise, he downloaded the necessary software and repaired them. The laptops were sold for a little less than actual cost, saving about $6,000 in potential write-offs. Porping has had two customer comments recently about how helpful and insightful his suggestions are. He is very deserving of this recognition!
Camp Humphreys – DSC Taco Bell
It’s special when one of our foremen goes the extra mile to make our customers happy, with no benefit for themselves, especially on a busy weekend such as Valentine’s Day. One customer had been home during the whole pandemic with an energetic 3-year-old daughter. As a fun dinner solution for his family, he ordered the “AT HOME TACO BAR” from our Taco Bell. Unfortunately, the promotion had ended, but seeing the customer’s disappointment, Mr. Yi quickly thought of a way to “save the sale” and earned a customer for life. He quickly wrapped a “TACO PARTY PACK” in the same way the “AT HOME TACO BAR” is offered. He took the time to pack each ingredient separately in a box and even included sour cream. It’s not an exaggeration to say Chae-min made this family’s day. The customer commented, “My wife could not stop talking about how happy she was with the tacos” and their 3-year-old ate two without hesitation. Thank you, Mr. Yi, for your sincere kindness. We recognize your outstanding customer service and thank you for making Humphreys home.
Osan AB – Jewelry Shop
Ms. Kim continues to support the AAFES vision of “Being the preferred retail and services provider for the military family through extraordinary customer service and value pricing.” Due to her knowledge of all the Military Star card benefits, and her great customer service, 2021 had an excellent start and increase in Military Star card penetration compared with the previous year. Total sales for the Jewelry Shop in February 2021 were $12,117, and Military Star penetrations were 61.54%. Due to Ms. Kim’s excellent customer service and dedication, she has been a tremendous source of professional inspiration to many other associates.
