DALLAS \u2013 <\/b>The Army & Air Force Exchange Service is \u201cthrowing a bone\u201d to military pets and their owners in the Patriot Pet contest.<\/p>\n

Through May 29, authorized Exchange shoppers can submit a photo of their pet along with a short description of their four-legged friend.<\/p>\n

\u201cPets are a very important part of our lives,\u201d said Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Sean Applegate, the Exchange senior enlisted advisor. \u201cThey provide many of us with companionship and friendship, so it\u2019s only fair we take this opportunity to crow and bark about our pets.\u201d<\/p>\n

Submissions will be judged on creativity, uniqueness, quality and effectiveness in conveying the loyalty and companionship of pets belonging to military members.<\/p>\n

The grand prize winner will \u201cfetch\u201d a $500 Exchange gift card. Additional prizes include a $100 gift card for two runners up and\u00a0four third place winners will receive a $50 gift card.<\/p>\n

To participate in the Patriot Pet contest, military shoppers can visit www.shopmyexchange.com\/patriot-family<\/a> and submit a photo of their pet (or pets) along with a 50-word or less description. Entries must include name, address, phone number, date of birth and pet\u2019s information (name, breed or type of pet).<\/p>\n
