For every 2,000 points earned, shoppers will automatically receive a $20 Exchange rewards card.<\/p>\n<p>The updated MILITARY STAR<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> card, which will arrive in cardholders\u2019 mailboxes in mid-September, will have enhanced features to protect service members and their families from becoming victims of fraud. A security code on the back will provide extra protection when shopping online. The card will also include expiration and \u201cmember since\u201d dates on the front.<\/p>\n<p>The new MILITARY STAR<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> card reflects a patriotic look that includes an image of the Statue of Liberty and branch of service seal, something customers voiced as important in focus groups.<\/p>\n<p>Though its look is changing, the MILITARY STAR<sup>\u00ae <\/sup>card\u2019s benefits will continue, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Competitive interest rate of 10.24 percent\u2014an industry-leading interest rate.<\/li>\n<li>No annual, late or over-limit fees.<\/li>\n<li>10 percent off first-day purchases.<\/li>\n<li>10 percent off Exchange food court purchases.<\/li>\n<li>5-cents-per-gallon savings at Exchange gas stations.<\/li>\n<li>Free standard shipping at shopyexchange.com.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition to advantages for customers, the entire military community benefits when shoppers use a MILITARY STAR<sup>\u00ae <\/sup>card.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause MILITARY STAR<sup>\u00ae <\/sup>card transactions are processed in-house, costly merchant fees are avoided,\u201d said Exchange Credit Program Senior Vice President Jami Richardson. \u201cInstead of paying bank fees for credit card processing, the exchanges can better support Army Morale, Welfare and Recreation and Air Force Services programs.
