DALLAS \u2013 <\/span><\/b>The Army & Air Force Exchange Service is making holiday wishes come true for military shoppers by picking up the tab on their MILITARY STAR\u00ae<\/sub> card up to $8,200 with the <\/span>\u201cYour Holiday Bill Is On Us\u201d sweepstakes<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\"20150205_080223\"<\/a>From Nov. 1 through Dec. 31, shoppers will be automatically entered in the sweepstakes each time they use their MILITARY STAR card to pay for purchases at any Army or Air Force Exchange location or on shopmyexchange.com. Each transaction counts as one entry.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Three grand-prize winners will receive their MILITARY STAR card bill paid in full up to $8,200 with a minimum prize of $2,500.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Ten second-prize winners will be awarded a $1,000 credit on their MILITARY STAR card statement, while 25 third-place winners will earn a $500 credit. Winners with a balance less than their prize amount will receive a credit on their account.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWith this sweepstakes, the Exchange is making dreams come true and changing lives,\u201d said Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Sean Applegate, Exchange senior enlisted advisor. \u201cJust one swipe of a MILITARY STAR card is all it takes to enter.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In 2015, the sweepstakes changed the life of one grand-prize winner. <\/span>Sgt. Kakala Loketi<\/span><\/a> had her MILITARY STAR account paid in full during a presentation at Freedom Crossing at Fort Bliss, where she took scissors to an oversize credit card statement, symbolizing her $8,200 bill being wiped clean.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a huge relief for me and my family,\u201d Loketi said at the time, noting that she primarily used her card for emergencies and to help young Soldiers pay for necessities, like gas. \u201cA weight has been lifted off me.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This holiday season, all shoppers who pay with their MILITARY STAR card will get something back thanks to a new rewards program. All MILITARY STAR cardholders earn 2 points for every $1 spent in Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, Navy and Coast Guard exchange stores, and wherever else the MILITARY STAR card is accepted. For every 2,000 points earned, shoppers automatically receive a $20 MILITARY STAR rewards card.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Winners of the \u201cYour Holiday Bill Is On Us\u201d sweepstakes will be announced on or about Jan. 30.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
