Exchange Recruiting Kids at JBSA-Randolph, Lackland and Fort Sam Houston to Participate in Toy Focus Group

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO – Military children at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, JBSA-Lackland and JBSA-Fort Sam Houston will choose this year’s Army & Air Force Exchange Service Military Brat Approved Toys on June 21 at Randolph Middle School.

“The JBSA-Randolph Exchange is thrilled to be selected to host this focus group for the first time ever,” said Tammar Tracey, JBSA-Randolph Exchange main store manager. “This event is a great opportunity for parents and their children to preview and provide valuable feedback on some of the hottest toys this year.”

The Military Brat Approved program began in 2014 when the Exchange decided to go straight to the experts—the kids themselves—to find out what toys would be among the hottest during the holiday season. As in past years, the toys that generate the most interest will receive the Military Brat Approved title and will be easily identified by special logos on store shelves and online at shopmyexchange.com this fall.

The JBSA-Randolph Exchange is looking for military dependent children within the following age ranges to participate at the following times:

  • 10-11:30 a.m. (preschool)
  • 1-2:30 p.m. (ages 6 to 9)
  • 3:30-5 p.m. (ages 10 to 12)

Parents interested in signing their children up for a chance to participate should visit facebook.com/RandolphAirForceBExchange/, click on “Events” and register under “Military Brat Approved Focus Group.” Registration is open through June 19. Participants will be randomly selected using a lottery drawing and will be notified by June 20.

Both parents or a legal guardian of selected participants must sign a video/photograph release form as names and/or images may be shared on social media. Additionally, a parent or legal guardian must remain present with their child for the duration of the event.
