KEESLER AIR FORCE BASE – The Army & Air Force Exchange Service presented a Kawasaki KX™250F motorcycle to a lucky Exchange shopper on Aug. 19 at the Keesler Air Force Base Exchange.
National Guard Spc. Anthony Clark, winner of the Exchange’s Monster Kawasaki sweepstakes, was joined by Col. Danny Davis, Commander, 81st Mission Support Group; Chief Master Sgt. Derick Stepp, 81st Mission Support Group; Chief Master Sgt. Luis Reyes, Exchange Senior Enlisted Advisor; Greg Hall, Exchange general manager; and Rick Evans, Exchange store manager for a presentation ceremony at the Keesler Exchange main store.
“I used to ride freestyle motocross when I was younger with my dad,” Clark said. “He had to sell it to pay the bills, and I swore I’d own another dirt bike one day.”
Clark, who served for three-and-a-half years in the U.S. Army before transitioning to the Guard, said he was selected at random from more than 16,000 shoppers who entered the sweepstakes between April 15 and May 31.
“I was shocked,” Clark said. “I honestly didn’t think it was real at first.”
Clark said he plans to sell the motorcycle to his friend, semi-pro motocross racer Cody Sorg, to help further his career.
“He’s not big yet, but he’s about to be,” he said.
Reyes said it is an honor to hand the motorcycle over to Clark.
“The Exchange is privileged to serve extraordinary service members,” Reyes said. “At the Exchange, Our Customers Are Heroes, and Spc. Clark is no exception. We’re honored to present him with this prize.”
