Online and In-Store, Exchange Helps Military Families Express Their Love on Valentine’s Day

DALLAS – Apparently a lot of sweethearts like the classics. Last year, the National Retail Federation estimated consumers would spend $2 billion on flowers for Valentine’s Day, and according to WalletHub, 94 percent of people celebrating the holiday wanted candy and chocolate as gifts.

This year, the Army & Air Force Exchange Service is helping military families share the love on Valentine’s Day with candy, gifts and flowers for less at Exchange and Express stores in the continental United States and at ShopMyExchange.com.

“The Exchange is passionate about saving service members and their families money,” said Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Luis Reyes, the Exchange’s senior enlisted advisor. “The Exchange team’s love for the military community doesn’t fade after Valentine’s Day—it lasts all year, just as Soldiers and Airmen work to protect our freedom year-round.”

Beginning Feb. 8, flowers will be available at select Exchange and Express stores, where customers can purchase a dozen roses for $29.99; a half-dozen roses for $16.99; a medium Valentine bouquet for $9.99; and a single rose for $5.99.

Authorized Exchange shoppers, including all honorably discharged Veterans, can send flowers and other gifts within the continental United States at a 25 percent discount through FTD and Teleflora at ShopMyExchange.com. The Telaflora savings is available through May, while the FTD discount is valid through Feb. 14. Both offer same-day delivery (see website for details) and accept the MILITARY STAR® card when shopping through ShopMyExchange.com. Orders placed by 7 a.m. Central Standard Time Feb. 13 will be delivered on Valentine’s Day.

For more information, shoppers can contact their local Exchange. Find the store nearest you at shopmyexchange.com/exchange-stores.
