DALLAS – While summer means rest and relaxation to many people, military families know the season can bring big changes, especially if it involves a Permanent Change of Station (PCS).
For PCS’ing Soldiers, Airmen and their families, the Army & Air Force Exchange Service provides resources when it comes to moving from installation to installation. The Department of Defense retailer’s website features a PCS Headquarters at ShopMyExchange.com/PCS with checklists, moving supplies and links to valuable information.
“PCS’ing can mean a lot of upheaval for members of the military community,” said Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Luis Reyes, the Exchange’s senior enlisted advisor. “The Exchange’s online PCS Headquarters helps make the move a little smoother by putting everything you need in one place.”
At PCS Headquarters, service members and their families can:
- Shop for all they need to set up their new homes, including gadgets, bedding, kitchenware and more.
- Find information on setting up TV, phone and internet.
- Receive special savings on PODS storage.
The Exchange is also offering MILITARY STAR Operation PCS Benefit Cards to help with the expenses of moving. Service members who show their PCS orders at the Exchange customer service desk from June 1 to Aug. 8 can receive a card, which gives them savings of $10 on every $100 purchase made with MILITARY STAR at the Exchange. The PCS Benefit Card is valid for 90 days, including on ShopMyExchange.com, and can be used again and again to save.
