JOINT BASE LEWIS McCHORD – Crutches, braces and mobility devices are now more easily available for Joint Base Lewis-McChord service members, retirees and their families thanks to a new durable medical equipment (DME) store at the McChord Exchange mall.
Exchange General Manager Michael Einer cut the ribbon on the Barber DME Supply Group shop on July 30. The store offers a wide variety of medical equipment products, such as CPAP supplies, compression garments, breast pump supplies, walkers, knee braces and more.
Rentals are also available for select equipment. The new store accepts both Medicare and TRICARE insurance.
“This durable medical equipment shop is an invaluable addition to the Exchange mall,” Einer said. “It will provide a real service to the JBLM military community to make their lives better.”
The JBLM location is the Army & Air Force Exchange Service’s fifth durable medical equipment shop on a military installation. The Exchange also offers equipment online at ShopMyExchange.com.
Since 100 percent of Exchange earnings support the military community, shopping the Barber DME store and other Exchange facilities puts JBLM shoppers’ money back into the local community. In 2017, the JBLM Exchange contributed nearly $1.5 million to Quality-of-Life programs at the installation.
Barber DME Supply Group is a full-service medical equipment company that offers durable medical equipment to consumers and home patients throughout the United States.
The store is located in the McChord Field Main Exchange mall area and is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information call 253-244-7894 or 253-244-7869.
