Camp Humphreys Doubles Up on New Dining Options with Burger King, Popeyes

U.S. ARMY GARRISON HUMPHREYS – Soldiers and families at USAG Humphreys have more dining options with the grand opening of two new Army & Air Force Exchange Service restaurants.

USAG Humphreys Garrison Commander Col. Scott Mueller and Command Sgt. Maj. Antonio Lopez joined Exchange leaders in cutting the ribbon on Burger King and Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen restaurants.

“The Exchange is really a big part of how we bring that slice of home, that taste of home here to our community,” Mueller said. He also thanked the Exchange for the “outstanding support that they continually provide the community, making Humphreys home.”

The new food court is part of a continuing transformation at Camp Humphreys, which is doubling in population as U.S. forces relocate from other installations in South Korea. The Exchange is stepping up to support the increasing numbers with more restaurants, services and stores, including the new Family mini mall, which opened in September.

“It’s not just about convenience for the increasing number of service members here at Camp Humphreys,” said Exchange General Manager Scott Bonner. “It’s about giving our Soldiers a taste of home while they’re serving overseas as we continue to make Humphreys home.”

Popeyes offers Southern-style chicken, seafood, sandwiches and more. The menu includes a variety of BE FIT better-for-you options, with more than 20 items with 350 calories or less, including three-piece blackened tenders, Cajun rice and green beans.

Exclusive to Exchange Burger King restaurants, service members and families can swap out fries for a side salad on any combo meal at no extra charge. Diners can also save $2 on any entrée salad at Burger King as part of the Exchange’s Salad Wednesdays.

The Exchange is a partner in the Army Healthy Communities initiative under the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Operation Live Well. All Exchange restaurants offer better-for-you menu choices to support Warfighters’ readiness and resiliency.

Because 100 percent of Exchange earnings support Quality-of-Life programs on installations, every time Soldiers and families grab a bite to eat at any Exchange restaurant, they are supporting the USAG Humphreys community.

The new Popeyes and Burger King are located in Bldg. 6365. Popeyes is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Burger King is open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. For more information, call 070-7597-9567.
