Service Members Have a Chance to Tee Off with the Best in World Long Drive Competition

DALLAS – The World Long Drive competition is debuting a qualifying event for military members starting this month with the help of the Army & Air Force Exchange Service and Army Installation Command (IMCOM).

Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard active-duty, Reserve and retired service members can enter to compete at one of 12 qualifying events for the Military Long Drive by visiting ShopMyExchange.com/Community or www.armymwr.com/MLD. The participating locations are Forts Jackson, Benning, Bliss, Hood, Lewis, Belvoir, Lee, Sill, Carson, Campbell, Bragg and Aberdeen Proving Ground. Competitions begin March 30 at Fort Jackson.

Winners of each location’s competition will win an all-expenses-paid trip to the Military Long Drive Competition championship at Fort Jackson on May 7 to compete for a chance to win $10,000 and automatic entrance into the Volvik World Long Drive in Thackerville, Okla., Sept. 3 to 4. The Exchange, along with several vendor partners, is sponsoring the Celebrating Service: Fort Jackson championship event, which will air live on the Golf Channel, while IMCOM will support in staging the event.
