Exchange to Honor Disabled Veterans, Purple Heart Recipients at 120th Army-Navy Game

PHILADELPHIA – The Army & Air Force Exchange Service will honor disabled Veterans and Purple Heart recipients at the 120th Army-Navy Game, highlighting the Department of Defense retailer’s commitment to welcoming home heroes with an in-store, tax-free shopping benefit.

Beginning Jan. 1, in-store, tax-free shopping Exchange privileges will expand to all Veterans with service-connected disabilities, Veterans who are Purple Heart recipients, Veterans who are former prisoners of war and primary family caregivers for Veterans who are enrolled in the Department of Veterans Affairs Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers.

The Exchange will honor five disabled Veterans and Purple Heart recipients during an on-field presentation at the Army-Navy Game on Dec. 14, welcoming them home to their new shopping benefit.

“The Army-Navy Game is where heroes win, and the Exchange is where heroes shop,” said Exchange Director/CEO Tom Shull. “It will be a privilege to recognize the service and sacrifice of our Nation’s Veterans at America’s game.”

For the second year, the Exchange is a participating sponsor of the Army-Navy Game presented by USAA. The Exchange will connect with thousands of Cadets, Midshipmen and fans at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia as well as the millions who tune in for America’s game on CBS.

All honorably discharged Veterans can shop now at ShopMyExchange.com, through a benefit that was secured in 2017. Since then, Veterans have saved more than $7 million in sales taxes. Veterans can determine their eligibility to shop online at ShopMyExchange.com/vets.

Veterans who need additional information about the in-store patronage expansion can visit the Veterans section on the Exchange’s Community Hub.

Fans who cannot attend the game can follow the Exchange for all of the excitement throughout the weekend for the Army-Navy Game, including the Rocky Relay, pep rally, muster and Fan Fest events:
