FORT JACKSON – Soldiers and their families can enjoy a new better-for-you dining option at Fort Jackson with the opening of Subway at the main Exchange food court.

Fort Jackson Garrison Commander Col. Ryan Hanson and Garrison Command Sgt. Maj. Algrish C. Williams helped Exchange General Manager Kimberly Neiss and other Army & Air Force Exchange Service officials cut the ribbon on the new restaurant at its Aug. 17 grand opening.

“All Fort Jackson Exchange restaurants, including Subway, offer better-for-you options that support readiness and resiliency,” Neiss said. “With our name-brand healthy dining options, BE FIT-approved Express items and a wide selection of fitness gear in the main store, the Exchange has everything Fort Jackson Soldiers and families need to fuel a BE FIT lifestyle.”

Subway offers seven sandwiches with 350 calories or fewer, including turkey breast, oven roasted chicken and roast beef. This is the first Subway at Fort Jackson since the closure of the Express Subway nearly two years ago. The menu will initially offer lunch and dinner, with plans to add breakfast items in the near future.

The Fort Jackson main Exchange is at 4110 Moseby St. Subway is open 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays. For more information, call 803-738-0467.
