DALLAS – The Fort Sill Consolidated Exchange has been named among the best in the world, receiving the Army & Air Force Exchange Service’s highest honor, the Director/CEO Cup.
The Fort Sill Consolidated Exchange—which encompasses retail stores, Expresses, specialty stores, Military Clothing stores, theaters, restaurants and more at Fort Sill, Altus Air Force Base and Sheppard Air Force Base—was recognized for its exceptional service to the military community during the Department of Defense retailer’s managers’ conference in Frisco, Texas.
Fort Sill Garrison Commander Col. James Peay, Altus AFB’s 97th Air Mobility Wing Commander Col. Blaine Baker and Sheppard AFB’s 82nd Training Wing and Installation Commander Brig. Gen. Lyle Drew all wrote letters in support of the Fort Sill Consolidated Exchange’s nomination.
“The Fort Sill Exchange team works tirelessly to enhance the quality of life for our community,” Peay wrote. “The Fort Sill Exchange is indeed deserving of this recognition as they have performed miraculously this past year.”
Peay also commended the Exchange for its partnership with the Lawton Chamber of Commerce to install a travel kiosk in the Exchange food court, as well as opening additional services such as the dental office and Sarku Japan restaurant.
“Fort Sill, Altus and Sheppard Exchange associates are incredibly passionate about taking care of our shoppers,” said Fort Sill Exchange General Manager Mikel Hunter. “We’re honored to be recognized and look forward to continuing to provide the best service to the best customers in the world.”
One winner and one runner-up were awarded the Director/CEO Cup in each of four size categories, based on sales volume: Super, Large, Medium and Small. The Fort Sill Exchange was the winner in the large category.
The winners were chosen from among 94 eligible stores based on customer experience, leadership, business results, marketing efforts and community presence.
