Hawaii Exchanges Named Among Top in the World

DALLAS – The Hawaii Consolidated Exchange has been named among the best in the world, receiving the Army & Air Force Exchange Service’s highest honor, the Director/CEO Cup.

The Hawaii Consolidated Exchange—which encompasses Hickam Air Force Base main store, Schofield Barracks main store, 11 Expresses, specialty stores, Military Clothing stores, theaters, restaurants and more—was recognized for its exceptional service to the military community during the Department of Defense retailer’s managers’ conference in Frisco, Texas.

USAG Hawaii Garrison Commander Col. Steven McGunegle wrote a letter in support of the Hawaii Consolidated Exchange’s nomination.

“AAFES is an exemplary team of professionals who display their expertise and a genuine desire to provide superior support and service to the Hawaii Military community each and every day,” McGunegle wrote. “The AAFES team is always willing to participate and support our Service Members and Families however they can.”

McGunegle also commended the Exchange for its opening of several new services, including Panda Express, Bing Bros, Dominos, Hunt Brothers Pizzas, the car wash and more, as well as for their support of community events.

One winner and one runner-up were awarded the Director/CEO Cup in each of four size categories, based on sales volume: Super, Large, Medium and Small. The Hawaii Consolidated Exchange was the winner in the Super category.

The winners were chosen from among 94 eligible stores based on customer experience, leadership, business results, marketing efforts and community presence.
