Grafenwoehr Exchange Named Among Top in the World

DALLAS – The Grafenwoehr Consolidated Exchange has been named among the best in the world, receiving the Army & Air Force Exchange Service’s highest honor, the Director/CEO Cup.

The Grafenwoehr Consolidated Exchange—which encompasses retail stores, Expresses, specialty stores, Military Clothing stores, theaters, restaurants and more in the Grafenwoehr/Vilseck, Hohenfels and Garmisch communities—was recognized for its exceptional service to the military community during the Department of Defense retailer’s managers’ conference in Frisco, Texas.

USAG Bavaria Commander Col. Kevin Poole wrote a letter in support of the Grafenwoehr Consolidated Exchange’s nomination for the award, which helped secure its win.

The Exchange team has “consistently found ways to negotiate challenges and provide necessary services, even when there appeared to be little-to-no options,” Poole wrote. “Beyond providing an extensive collection of services, the Exchange team leads the way in optimizing business strategies which have resulted in financial savings and energy conservation. These partnerships contribute tremendously to community resilience and sustainment.”

Poole also commended the Grafenwoehr Consolidated Exchange for its work in supporting the Basic Leader Course at Camp Normandy, the Ukrainian Mission at Camp Kasserine and training missions in Hohenfels.

One winner and one runner-up were awarded the Director/CEO Cup in each of four size categories, based on sales volume: Super, Large, Medium and Small. Grafenwoehr Consolidated Exchange was the runner-up in the Super category.

The winners were chosen from among 94 eligible stores based on customer experience, leadership, business results, marketing efforts and community presence.
