Army & Air Force Exchange Service Shoppers Can Kick Off Holiday Shopping Early With Fee-Free Layaway

DALLAS – Military shoppers can start saving on holiday shopping purchases in September with the Army & Air Force Exchange Service’s fee-free layaway promotion.

From Sept. 6 through Dec. 24, the Exchange is waiving the $3 service fee for layaways of clothing, toys and more when paid in full and picked up by Dec. 24. Eligible items must be paid in full and picked up by Dec. 24 for the waived service fee.

Shoppers can also enjoy the waiver on layaways on eligible electronics, including notebooks, tablets, iPads and smartwatches when paid in full and picked up by Dec. 13.

The Army & Air Force Exchange Service shoppers can cross off holiday shopping wish lists early with fee-free layaway. From Sept. 6 through Dec. 24, the $3 service fee will be waived on eligible items.

“The Exchange’s fee-free layaway service gives shoppers another way to save this holiday shopping season,” said Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Rich Martinez, the Exchange’s senior enlisted advisor. “Service members and their families can make the most of any budget with the Exchange’s military-exclusive priced items—always tax-free—by crossing off their wish lists in-store in September.”

To start a new layaway, a deposit of 15% of the total purchase price is required. Some exclusions apply. A $5 cancellation fee applies on layaways that have been paid in full. Shoppers can visit the customer service desk for more details.
