DALLAS – The MILITARY STAR® card offers the lowest APR among all unsecured retail cards at 14.24%, according to an annual study by Bankrate. The APR—nearly half of the industry average of 30.14%—is available to all cardmembers, regardless of credit score.
With the card also featuring no annual, late or over-the-limit fees, MILITARY STAR ensures military shoppers a safe and effective way to build credit.
“The MILITARY STAR card is a force multiplier for military shoppers,” said Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Rich Martinez, the Exchange’s senior enlisted advisor. “The industry-best APR along with a host of other benefits allows service members and families to build credit and maintain financial readiness.”
Cardmembers enjoy more everyday benefits including:
- 10% off all first-day purchases.
- 10% off food purchases at participating Exchange restaurants.
- 5 cents off per gallon at on-installation fuel stations (Exchange, NEX and MCX).
- Free shipping on ShopMyExchange.com and MyNavyExchange.com orders.
- Unlimited reward points on every purchase plus a $20 digital rewards card every 2,000 points.
- A $1,000 interest-free Military Clothing line of credit and deployment benefits for eligible cardmembers.
Thanks to a collaboration with Discover Global Network in 2024, cardmembers can now use MILITARY STAR at on-installation concessionaires, name-brand restaurants, third-party vendors, Morale, Welfare and Recreation activities and more. The partnership also delivered card enhancements such as modern chip technology, mobile wallet and tap-to-pay capabilities, ensuring easier and more secure transactions.
In 2024, the MILITARY STAR card provided $473 million in value from its everyday rewards, savings and discounts.
