Fueling the Force: Exchange Boosts Readiness with BE FIT 360 Meals, Snacks

DALLAS – As Americans embrace New Year’s resolutions focused on wellness, the Army & Air Force Exchange Service continues to make offering better-for-you meals and snacks a priority for the military community.

As part of its BE FIT 360 program dedicated to holistic wellness, the Exchange offers fresh, choices at all restaurants, Expresses and self-service markets.

“The Exchange is fully committed to supporting nutrition and wellness for the military community, keeping the Nation’s Total Force ready and resilient,” said Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Rich Martinez, the Exchange’s senior enlisted advisor. “We are dedicated to ensuring Warfighters and military families have access to better-for-you meals and snacks to fuel them throughout the day.”

Better-for-you options at Exchange restaurants include:

  • The Impossible Whopper, featuring a plant-based patty, is available at Exchange Burger King locations worldwide. Also, serving Salads.
  • Qdoba Mexican Eats entrees are hand-crafted with fresh vegetables and grilled chicken. Diners can customize meals to accommodate low-carb, vegan, vegetarian, gluten-friendly, high-protein and low-calorie meal plans.
  • Charleys menu items with 300 calories or fewer, including grilled chicken, steak and garden salads, as well small cheesesteaks with fewer than 500 calories.
  • Arby’s offers guests meal options under 500 calories, including sliders and the Classic Roast Beef sandwich, with a side salad available exclusively at Exchange Arby’s locations.

To fuel up on the go, Warfighters can use easy-to-spot Healthier Choices, Healthier Lifestyle shelf tags to identify BE FIT 360-approved snacks and meals at 350 Express stores worldwide. Healthy snacks, such as fresh fruit, trail mix, veggie chips and yogurt, are also available at Expresses to support nutritious choices.

For service members who may not be near an Exchange restaurant or Express while working, there are a growing number of 24/7 self-service stores with fresh options including salads, fruits, sandwiches and more.

“From grab-and-go snacks to meals for the family, the Exchange is all in to support nutrition and wellness goals,” Martinez said. “The Exchange is honored to make healthy eating a part of everyday life on and off duty.”
