REDSTONE ARSENAL – The Redstone Arsenal Exchange unveiled the newly renovated Goss Road Express, bringing an updated and more convenient shopping experience.

Originally built in 1996, the nearly 14,000-square-foot store debuted its first renovation March 13. The $2.1 million project, funded by the Army & Air Force Exchange Service, was completed in six months and features a new beverage cave, polished flooring and new restaurants for the Redstone community, including Chopz and Hunt Brothers Pizza.

Col. Erin Eike, Redstone Arsenal garrison commander; Sgt. Maj. John Fritz, Redstone Arsenal command sergeant major; Antonio Porter Sr., Exchange South Central Region vice president; Sheldon Richburg, Exchange general manager; and Peggy Jensen, Exchange store manager; cut the ribbon on the updated store.

“Redstone Arsenal is committed to working collaboratively with the Exchange to support the evolving needs of our service members,” Eike said. “This effort reflects the coordination across our installation to ensure our Nation’s heroes have access to the resources they need to carry out their mission.”

Richburg echoed the spirit of collaboration.

“Today marks a new beginning as the Army & Air Force Exchange Service welcomes innovation and change to help us better serve our Nation’s heroes and their families,” Richburg said. “This celebration reflects the Exchange’s enduring partnership with Redstone Arsenal and our shared commitment to serving those who serve.”

Attendees received gift bags and samples from Hunt Brothers Pizza, Chopz and various beverages from the Express.

“This celebration is a result of teamwork,” Porter said. “These upgrades allow Team Exchange to evolve to the needs of our nearly 76,000 military shoppers in the Huntsville area.”

The Express is located at Bldg. 3220, Acton Drive and is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. For more information, call 256-883-0367.
