The government’s 122-year-old post exchange system for troops is opening its inventory to a new line of customers — veterans.
Starting on Veterans Day, all honorably discharged veterans will be able to shop online at the Army & Air Force Exchange Service. Eleven months ago, Congress greenlighted the exchange to make the change.
Before, the tax-free shopping was restricted to active duty, reserve, National Guard and retired military members, plus their families. That will still be the case at the stores. …
