Exchange, Unilever Offering $20,000 in College Scholarships with Rewards of Caring Essay Contest

DALLAS – Military students who excel in academics can share their stories of community service for a chance to win one of 10 college scholarships with an essay contest sponsored by the Army & Air Force Exchange Service and Unilever.

The 10 winners of the Rewards of Caring scholarship contest will each receive a $2,000 scholarship. Authorized Exchange shoppers in grades six through 12 with an average grade point average of at least 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) can enter from March 29 to May 2.

To enter, military students must submit an entry form and essay in English of 500 words or less describing their involvement in community service projects and why their community is important to them.

“The volunteer work of military students is vital to the health and resiliency of military communities,” said Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Luis Reyes, Exchange senior enlisted advisor. “This essay contest encourages military students to lend a helping hand at the local level—and rewards them for the time spent in the service of others.”

Entry forms can be obtained at participating Exchange locations worldwide. They can also be downloaded online at ShopMyExchange.com/sweepstakes or operationintouch.com. Entries must be mailed, postmarked by May 2 and received by no later than May 15. Limit one entry per student.

Students should send mailed submissions to:
