Coffee’s Brewing as Army & Air Force Exchange Service Welcomes Prevail Union Café to Maxwell-Gunter AFB

MAXWELL-GUNTER AIR FORCE BASE – Coffee and the military go hand-in-hand, and Airmen and their families have a new home for craft Southern coffees as the Army & Air Force Exchange Service opened Prevail Union Café at Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base with a ribbon-cutting ceremony May 10.

Prevail Coffee at Maxwell-Gunter“We are excited to open a Prevail Coffee Union shop in the Maxwell Base Exchange,” said Col. Eries L.G. Mentzer, commander of the 42nd Air Base Wing at Maxwell Air Force Base. “We are incredibly grateful for our partnerships with Prevail Coffee and the Army & Air Force Exchange Service that allow us to increase the quality of life and mission for our Airmen, Guardians and families at Maxwell Air Force Base and Gunter Annex.”

Prevail, a family-owned coffee shop headquartered in Montgomery, Ala., offers hot and cold-brewed coffees with beans harvested in Guatemala, Costa Rica, Colombia, Ethiopia and Rwanda.

“Our Maxwell community is excited about having their own coffee shop and cafe,” Maxwell-Gunter Exchange General Manager Brenda Hyland said. “The Exchange is pleased to welcome a partner from our own back yard in Montgomery that understands how important coffee is to our service members.”

The company also offers coffee subscription services, merchandise and home-brewing guides. The Prevail Union Café is in the Exchange mall and is open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
