Exchange Welcomes Healthy Dining Choice Bun-D to Fort Detrick

FORT DETRICK – A new healthy dining choice opened its doors for Soldiers and their families as the Army & Air Force Exchange Service welcomed Bun-D to Fort Detrick on May 4.

“The opening of Bun-D is exciting, and we are so happy to give our Fort Detrick community another healthy food option,” Fort Detrick Garrison Commander Dexter Nunnally said. “I look forward to trying the protein smoothie options after one of my workouts.”

Bun-D opens at Fort DetrickBun-D, a Germany-based restaurant that focuses on natural, unprocessed ingredients, offers salads, wraps, rice bowls and smoothies. All of the Exchange’s 1,700 restaurants offer better-for-you options that support Warfighters’ readiness and resiliency.

The Exchange takes a holistic approach to promote and encourage healthy, better-for-you options. The Exchange’s BE FIT initiative highlights health-conscious dining grab-and-go options and provides an assortment of fitness gear and wellness services.

Bun-D will join Subway in the Fort Detrick Exchange Food Court.

“It’s important that our Soldiers and military families have more healthy dining choices to help them stay fit to fight,” Fort Detrick General Manager Robin Boylan said. “The Exchange is committed to having a variety of restaurants with better-for-you menu items.”

Frederick, Md., 21702. It’s open from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
