Tinker Exchange Opens to Rave Reviews
DALLAS – With a simple cutting of a ribbon at Tinker AFB Sept. 17, a new Exchange experience began with the unveiling of a new brand and store concept. With the launch of the new retail concept, military shoppers immediately began enjoying a world-class experience, with first weekend sales 133 percent above the same period last year.
“We couldn’t be prouder of this new look and are excited about unveiling it in the future at Exchanges around the world,” said the Exchange Commander Maj. Gen. Bruce Casella. “This facility is setting the standard for future generations and, based on the number of excited shoppers in its first weekend, is definitely a hit with the Tinker community.”
Tinker shoppers were welcomed to a store boasting fresh new colors, textures and graphics with a new layout divided into three major merchandise worlds – Home, Life and Style. In addition, the customer service section was moved to the front of the store to offer expert service immediately upon entry.
“This store is a dramatic improvement over what we had before,” said Tech Sgt. Mike Morris. “The aisles are much wider, the way the store is divided up makes it much easier to find what you’re looking for. This is really, really nice. Well worth the wait, that’s for sure.”
